The bravery and sacrifice of those people in securing the peace and freedom we enjoy today will be observed by the lighting of beacons around the United Kingdom. The Village of Silsoe plans to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day by lighting a beacon at 9.15pm on 6th June 2024.

The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire will be in attendance for the formal lighting of the Beacon.
The event will be from 7.00pm to 9.30pm, light refreshments and drinks available.

NATIONAL FISH & CHIP DAY – You can also celebrate National Fish & Chip Day with fish and chips available from “The Plaice to Eat” on site
