REMEMBRANCE DAY 2024

remembrance day road closure 10.30-11.15

Sunday 10th November 2024

Remembrance Day will be observed in Silsoe on Sunday, November 10th, 2024. The service will begin in the grounds of St. James Church at 10:30 am, followed by a two-minute silence at 11:00 am.
The Silsoe Scout Group will march through the village from the Millennium Green to the Church. Wreaths will be laid by Mr. Geoffrey Farr, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Mr. Peter Offer, Chairman of Silsoe Parish Council, a representative of English Heritage, and the Silsoe Scouts, Cubs, and Beavers.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony, a service will take place at St. James’s Church, led by Reverend Simon Moore.

This event presents an opportunity for all Residents of the village, together with their friends and family, to participate in the act of remembrance both outside and inside the Church.

The High St and adjoining road junctions between the Millennium Green and the Church will be closed from 10.30-11.15 on Remembrance Day.
